Prize and Giveaway Rules
To establish fairness, here are some rules governing giveaways and other prizes on the Crime and Suspense ezine.
Giveaways
- You may only win one giveaway item in any given six-month period.
- Giveaways are "as-is" prizes, with no substitutions available.
- Sometimes items of clothing are limited as to the choice of size color, etc., and Crime and Suspense may have no control over availability. We apologize, but that's just the way it is.
- Import/customs duties are the responsibility of the winner.
Competition prizes
- You may win only one competition prize in any given six-month period.
- Again, some competition prizes are "as-is" prizes, with no substitutions available.
- And again, sometimes items of clothing are limited as to the choice of size color, etc., and Crime and Suspense may have no control over availability. We apologize, but that's just the way it is.
- Import/customs duties or taxes, if any, are the responsibility of the winner.
In general:
- Winners of non-cash prizes or giveaways in countries outside the United States may be asked to help defray the cost of shipping or accept an alternative prize or giveaway item.
- Winning a giveaway item does not prohibit an individual from winning a contest prize within that same six-month period, or vice versa. There is no relationship between the two.
- If the winner of a prize does not respond to email notification of winning within five business days, their prize is forfeit and may be awarded to another.
- Some competitions may require the payment of an entry fee, and this entry fee may be different for subscribers than it is for non-subscribers.
- The "Readers' Choice" designation and prize do NOT count as either giveaways or competition prizes, however, an author can win only one Readers' Choice designation within a calendar year.
